Musician - Composer

I found my love for music early on, first Thriller, then Appetite for Destruction. When I was in elementary school, my dad printed posters for the local music club, and in return they gave us free tickets. Back then, my parents didn’t care much for music, but I did, so they took me to concerts. That’s where I discovered the drums.

From then on, I spent many evenings there - while my peers watched Knight Rider, I watched Sepultura.  

Got serious about the drums and took some lessons. Discovered Jazz and managed to get into Conservatory to study. Great times - music, drums, gigs, few worries. Played as much as I could , as a steady member of bands and freelancing.

Finally, I needed to get out, so I relocated to Amsterdam.

Founded a live drum’nbass band, and after a while also joined a Dutch Ska band. Played every venue and festival in the Netherlands you can think of, but not once in Rotterdam. Why, I don’t know.

After a couple of years, it was time to move on, and I moved to Berlin.

I knew some people, there was music work, and rent was cheap.

20 years later, rent is no longer cheap, but I am still here.

The drums are also still with me - basically, I’m doing what I have been doing for the last 20 years - I work with several bands, theatre companies, circuses, and artists on a regular basis, play freelance gigs occasionally, and lead my own bands and projects. 

Over the last couple of years, I have grown more and more passionate about producing music for picture. 

It's a creative outlet that I couldn't do without.
